Data Feeds and IDX

RANW MLS data applications must be submitted through MLS Grid (www.MLSGrid.com).

RANW MLS has aligned with a company called MLS Grid for Data Feed Management. All data applications for RANW MLS data must be processed through MLS Grid. MLS Grid's help site, mlsgrid.com/resources, offers guides on setting up data consumer access and using API. Through MLS Grid, all forms are signed and submitted electronically.

Application Process:

  1. Data Vendors will set up their account on MLS Grid and generate data requests for IDX, VOW, and/or Back-Office data. (Firm-Specific data requests must be generated by the member company.)
  2. Brokers (and agents, if applicable) will e-sign data agreements.
  3. MLS staff will approve the agreements, allowing MLS Grid will give the vendor access to the data.

Effective February 1, a restructured fee schedule was implemented for all MLS Data Services. That schedule can be found HERE.

More Information:

Most vendors currently working with RANW MLS members are already part of the Grid.

(Firm-Specific data requests must be started by the member company.)
  2. Brokers (and agents, if applicable) will e-sign data agreements.
  3. MLS staff will approve the agreements, allowing MLS Grid will give the vendor access to the data.

Why WebAPI?  As an association-owned MLS, RANW MLS is required by NAR to comply with RESO standards. RETS (Real Estate Transaction Standards) has been retired and replaced with Web API (web application program interface). Web API is the current industry standard for real estate data transport and the easiest transfer method for web developers to use.

Why the MLS Grid?  The MLS Grid was created by a network of MLSs and is designed to help brokers, MLSs, and product vendors work together efficiently to affect cost savings by implementing RESO standards. The goal of the MLS Grid is a single standardized data point of access and management for MLSs and brokers. Its purpose is to improve the MLS industry for the benefit of brokers. The MLS Grid will eliminate redundancies currently in the marketplace.

Benefits for Brokers: Brokers participating in multiple MLSs will only have to adhere to one set of rules, one set of display guidelines, and one compliance process. The combination of a streamlined compliance process and a modern Web API should reduce overall technology costs for brokerages.

Benefits to Vendors: Vendors working in multiple markets can reduce expenses due to a standard Web API, one standardized license agreement, one combined data feed, and simplified compliance enforcement.
